About
The Galloping Grind in Boreham is a horsebox cafe for cyclists and walkers on Damases Lane, CM3 3AL, with a bike repair stand and a 5 hygiene rating. On its Facebook page, read 6 October 2026, it calls itself fuel for cyclists, walkers and coffee lovers, with coffee and cake served beside a pond, and the seating is outdoors. It shares the Damases Lane postcode with the Pot Shop garden centre. The cafe trades seasonally rather than all year. The trail run it hosts, the 5th Galloping Grind 10k, is billed by its organiser as celebrating the cafe's reopening for the 2027 season on Sunday 4 April 2027, so check the Facebook page for the current days before a trip in winter. That run starts at 5pm, race numbers are collected from 4.30pm, entry is 15 pounds until 31 December 2026 and 17 pounds after, there are 30 places, and finishers get hot drinks and cake at the horsebox. Parking on site is limited and the organiser asks people to cycle over or share a car. Chelmsford City Council registers the business as a mobile caterer and rated it 5 out of 5 for food hygiene on 4 April 2025.
